Can you believe it is day 20 for the 31 days of the mini watercolor painting challenge? I can't believe we have come so far. Previously in 2019, I started a very similar project like this where I was painting flowers for 30 days on 4 x 4 inches of the canvas. I couldn't paint for each and every day but it was very good learning. I used Gauche as a medium for that project.
Watercolor landscape painting for day 20
For this painting, I took reference from Stephen Quiller's painting. I love the colors he has used for this and I wanted to do the same. Sometimes when you don't know what to paint, use great artists' paintings as a reference and learn from that.
The way he has used all the colors, I don't think I could ever do that. I am currently reading his book color choices and I am loving it so far.
I am a self-taught artist and it is very important for me to learn the basics. So I invested in this book and I am very happy that I did.
I love how the mountains turned out in this painting. The trees are not so good but it's fine. I am happy with the results.
Thank you for stopping by.
Love,
