a little about my art journey

Buy Me A Coffee

Hello there! I hope you are doing fine. We are now a family of 100 members and I am very happy about that. Thank you so much for the 100 subscribers. I am very grateful for having all of you. Thank you so much for supporting me. Thank you so much for joining my art journey.

About my art journey

Today I want to talk about my art journey a little. I started writing this blog when I started my Make/30 project. I was not painting so much before I started this project and I wanted the push that makes me paint every day. So I decided to paint 30 flowers in 30 days.

I wanted to register on Kickstarter but because I am from India, I was not able to do it. So I thought why not do it by my self.

I used to paint with watercolors and ink only. But that year – 2019, my loving husband gifted me a set of Gouache colors and I decided to use Gouache for that project. I couldn’t paint 30 flowers, but I painted 24 and one of them got sold.

I know it is only one painting that got sold but it gave me the motivation to do more. It was in November 2020. In January 2020 I thought to take my art hobby seriously and I started posting on Instagram, I created a Facebook page and I started posting here regularly.

digital illustrations

I also started creating digital illustrations which I love the most. I created my paintings into digital artwork. Until this time I was painting flowers only. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone so I decided to start another personal project where I am creating digital illustrations of animals starting from A to Z. I am so happy that my skills have been improved a lot from when I started.

I had to stop creating digital illustrations because my laptop is old and right now I don’t have enough funds to upgrade it. Anyway, I sold 3 of my art prints and I am very very happy about it. I can’t believe people love my work and are ready to pay. It was time to step further out of my comfort zone. I opted for landscape painting classes. Let me tell you I was so afraid of painting the whole paper. I was so afraid of painting the landscapes but after taking the class, I learned a lot of things.

This month I sold another two paintings. My little art business is growing slowly. I am also planning to teach watercolor paintings online. Thank you so much for your support.

Thank you so much for reading!

And in the celebration of 100 subscribers, I would want to give a free gift to all of you. Please enter your email address below so I can send it to you.

    Hiya Heli 🙂

Please feel free to send me that free gift to this email address! 😀

I think it’s excellent that you are publishing your own artworks on your own site. I will glad support your work! IMHO publishing anything on sites where the business model is collecting user data (essentially spyware) — such as what is often referred to as “social media” — will hurt both you + the people you wish to reach … because these companies will sell this information about you + your target audience to the highest bidders (perhaps the “global leader” of this business model is Google 😉 ).

Let me know if you have questions, want (more) tips, whatever! 😀

  2. Congrats, you’ve made so much progress! I remember finding your blog around the time you finished your Make/30 project. It’s so exciting to see an artist’s journey 🙂 Looking forward to what comes next!

    1. Thank you so much 🙂 You have helped me a lot 🙂
